UAlbany's School of Ed remains New York’s leader in online graduate education
Albany, NY (January 25, 2022) — Remaining in the top 10 for the sixth straight year, UAlbany and its School of Education (SOE) placed #8 in U.S. News & World Report's rankings of fully online master’s programs in education. In a ranking with 337 other institutions, UAlbany is the leading program in New York State.
In addition, UAlbany placed in U.S. News’ ranking of master’s programs in the specialty category of Curriculum and Instruction, finishing 21st out of 82 schools ranked.
“We are delighted to be ranked #8 for online master’s programs in education,” said Ginny Goatley, interim dean of SOE. “It is a testament to the decades of experience our faculty have in developing and delivering effective online instruction and innovative practices. With a strong connection to our student community, offering these master’s programs online expands access to high quality education.”
“It is certainly an honor to be selected as a top 10 program for six years in a row,” said Peter Shea, a professor in Educational Theory and Practice (ETAP). “I am very proud that the work of my colleagues in ETAP and the School of Education has earned this strong endorsement. We have been offering online programs since the late 1990s and we really do strive to ensure our students feel seen, heard, and highly valued and receive an excellent educational experience.”
