Kecskes Advances Pragmatics

Albany, NY (October 5, 2016) - Distinguished Professor Istvan Kecskes completed another whirlwind summer tour of international initiatives.

Distinguished Professor Istvan KecskesHe gave lectures at the University of Alicante, Spain; the Complutense University of Madrid, the Autonomous University of Madrid (Autonoma), and the National University of Distance Education (UNED) in Madrid, Spain; the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition, and Behavior in Nijmegen, the Netherlands; and Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain. He delivered a keynote presentation at the First International Conference in Pragmatics and Philosophy (Pragmasophia) at the University of Palermo in Italy. He was co-convener and a keynote speaker at the Seventh International Conference on Intercultural Pragmatics and Communication in Split, Croatia. He was co-chair of the Fourth International Conference on Chinese as a Second Language Research at East China Normal University in Shanghai, China.

Dr. Kecskes is a founder and current chairman of the Chinese as a Second Language Research Association and President of the American Pragmatics Association.
