Convene With Fellow Future and Practicing Educators
The Future Educators' Club is a pre-professional club for graduate and undergraduate students interested in exploring a vast variety of career options in the field of education. Members have the chance to hear guest speakers and participate in such activities as fundraising events, alternative spring break, a run/walk for literacy, community service projects (like reading to school children in local libraries), workshops, and much more!
Sigma Mu is the UAlbany chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, one of the largest and most prestigious educational honor societies in the world. It is aimed at those students committed to continuing in the field of education and dedicated to the ideals of fidelity to humanity, service, science, and toil. KDP recognizes scholarship, provides opportunities for monetary awards, and enhances the professional development of its members through the phases of their careers as scholars and educators.
UAlbany’s Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa, the leading worldwide advocate for public education with a membership of more than 82,000, was founded in 1962 and currently serves approximately 275 active members. PDK’s promotes quality in publicly supported education as essential to the development and maintenance of a democratic way of life. It is made up of professional educators, student teachers, graduate students, and other individuals in education-related fields.
