C-BERT Recognized for Influential Research on International Higher Education

Albany, NY (November 11, 2015) – The Department of Educational Administration and Policy Studies’ Cross-Border Education Research Team (C-BERT),  founded and co-directed by EAPS Chair Kevin Kinser and Associate Professor Jason Lane, was recognized with the Award for Significant Research on International Higher Education by the Association for the Study of Higher Education’s (ASHE) Council for International Higher Education (CIHE). Established in 2013, the award spotlights state-of-the-art research and scholarship and is given annually at the ASHE conference.

C-BERT, which has studied higher education institutions expanding their educational programs across geopolitical borders from organizational, sociological, economic, and political perspectives since 2010, received the award for its work on branch campuses and publishing its data on the website www.cbert.org.

This is the second year in a row that a faculty member from EAPS has been honored with this award. Dr. Daniel Levy, Distinguished Professor in EAPS, received the CIHE Research Award in 2014.
