Research published by Department of Reading faculty and students has been ranked as the best in the Northeast and among the top ten in the nation. The faculty are committed to training masters students and mentoring doctoral students in the critically needed area of literacy studies. 

Reading MS-
Intended for people who routinely work in literacy settings, yet not in the traditional B-12 school settings requiring teacher certification.

Literacy: Birth-Grade 6, Grades 5-12, Birth-Grade 12 MS-
Current holders of a valid Initial teaching certificate can use this degree for Professional certification and also to become certified as a Literacy Specialist.
Available for those with a valid Initial teaching certificate in either Early Childhood or Childhood Education, this degree is a great way to satisfy education requirements for Professional certification.  

Designed for those already certified in Childhood Education but who also want to teach special education or literacy.

Not a teacher but want to be? This degree is the one for you! 

For those looking for advanced coursework in literacy research and pedagogy, entry into a PhD program in Literacy or are seeking to deepen or broaden their professional knowledge or clinical expertise.

The doctoral program prepares individuals for research and teaching positions in universities, colleges, junior or community colleges, research labs, policy centers, state departments, and school districts.
