Welcome

Welcome to the Education Finance Research Consortium website.  The EFRC is an ongoing collaborative research and policy analysis venture between the New York State Education Department, the New York State Board of Regents, and education scholars, researchers, policy makers and educational institutions in New York State and around the country. The EFRC is based in the Center for Policy Research, a multidisciplinary research center at the University at Albany in Albany, New York.

Announcements

The EFRC is seeking to contract with researchers or research organizations to prepare condition reports on New York State charter schools.

New York State has substantial experience with charter schools, having created its first charter school in 1999.  There are now well over 100 charter schools in various districts in New York.  The EFRC would like to develop a better understanding of various policy questions pertaining to charter schools.

The total funding for the project is $108,000 including all costs.  Questions about the RFP are due January 22, 2010.  Research proposals are due February 26, 2010.  The research will be conducted in 2010 and 2011.
