This internet directory of departments and programs is based on the listing in Peterson's Graduate Programs in the Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences, 2001 (see also Peterson's Education Center). In some cases the status of the program is unclear, and some judgment was applied. Hence, this list should not be considered definitive.

Where we have found a web link to the department or program, that is given. Elsewhere we have traced through the university's information structure to get as close to the department as possible, and the name of the department is shown in parentheses.
