FORMAT FOR THE MIDTERM -- EAJ212L

The mid-term exam will have three parts:

Part I: Matching.
You will be given a list of titles and authors, and asked to match them. This portion of the exam is closed book.

Part II: Maps

You will be given two maps—a blank map of East Asia and a blank map of Japan—and will be asked to fill in a number of geographical features. A copy of these maps can be found here.

Part III: Short Answer and Essay.

• You will be given five short answer questions, all of which you must answer. Answers should be 3-5 sentences each, and will be written in a blue-book (provided by the instructor).
• You will be given four essay questions, two of which you must answer. Answers will be written in the blue-book.

PART III is open book, open note, so please come to class prepared.
