Basic Environmental Health Program Foundations of Public Health Practice
Communicable Disease Control (PH 103B)
After attending this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Define the infectious processes and list the factors in
development.
- List the general categories of infectious organisms.
- Itemize the portals of entry of infectious agents into new hosts.
- Recognize regulations pertaining to the reporting and investigating of communicable diseases.
- List the steps involved in an outbreak investigation.
This course has an online pre-requisite: Field Epidemiology
First priority for this course is given to local and state health department personnel who are required to take the BEHP. Second priority is given to individuals registered for the Foundations of Public Health Practice certificate program. Other public health staff may register on a space-available basis.
