"I never realized that you must go through so many steps in order to apply into graduate school"

"Graduating from college seemed like that was all there is to it - graduate with your bachelors and you will simply get in. In reality, there are many other factors that are included along the process. This informational graduate school fair focused on such factors as:

  • What scores were needed for the assessment test?
  • What were the certain steps needed for a student to follow in order to apply for graduate school?
  • What were the application deadlines for particular graduate study programs?

Fortunately, the UAlbany Graduate Fair gave me a guideline of what must be accomplished at certain dates, so I would not fall behind in the application process. The outcome: I got all the information giving me confidence through its many offered techniques, and I was able to apply for a graduate school of my choice with the right material before the program’s deadline."

"It was especially helpful to have a person to ask questions to, rather than negotiating manuals and websites."

Going into my senior year of college, I still wasn't sure of my plans after graduation. I had come into college on the pre-med track, but realized that it wasn't the right choice for me. I attended the UAlbany Grad fair at a friend's urging and it gave me just the guidance I was looking for.

At the suggestion of a professor, I was drawn towards the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy. Chair George Richardson immediately made me feel at ease and his comments cemented my choice to attend Rockefeller. It was especially helpful to have a person to ask questions to, rather than negotiating manuals and websites. I applied and will be attending Rockefeller in the fall on a graduate assistantship.
