Dmitry A. Suspitsin, Ph.D. Candidate in the dual-title degree program in Higher Education Administration and Comparative and International Education at the Pennsylvania State University.

Biography

Prior to coming to the United States under the auspices of the United States Information Agency and the Soros Foundation, Mr. Suspitsin worked as an instructor of English for seven years at Barnaul State Pedagogical University, the Russian Federation. He holds a master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of Toledo, Ohio and is currently working on his dissertation entitled "Private Higher Education in Russia: The Quest for Legitimacy." Mr. Suspitsin's academic interests include the worldwide emergence and development of non-state sectors in higher education, as well as the relationship of human, cultural, and social capital to educational attainment. His publications include articles on core curriculum, Pell Grants, and critical thinking," which appear in J. Forest & K. Kinser (Eds.), Higher Education in the United States: An Encyclopedia. ABC-CLIO Publishers.
