Biography

Prior to coming to the United States under the auspices of the United States Information Agency and the Soros Foundation, Mr. Suspitsin worked as an instructor of English for seven years at Barnaul State Pedagogical University, the Russian Federation. He holds a master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of Toledo, Ohio and a Ph.D. degree in the dual-title degree program in Higher Education Administration and Comparative and International Education at the Pennsylvania State University. Mr. Suspitsin's academic interests include the worldwide emergence and development of non-state sectors in higher education, as well as the relationship of human, cultural, and social capital to educational attainment. His publications include articles on core curriculum, Pell Grants, and critical thinking," which appear in J. Forest & K. Kinser (Eds.), Higher Education in the United States: An Encyclopedia. ABC-CLIO Publishers.
