Biography

Andrés Bernasconi (Chile), Ph.D. Researcher with the Institute of Political Studies at Universidad Andrés Bello's School of Law, in Santiago, Chile. He has also served as Dean of the Law School of the Universidad de Talca, Assistant Professor of Law and Director of Institutional Research at Universidad Andrés Bello, and Research Associate at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. Bernasconi has done research on Chilean and Latin American higher education, and has taught or carried out consulting work on higher education administration and policy in Belize, Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Indonesia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Spain, and Venezuela. He is currently interested in higher education law, and in patterns of diversification between public and private universities in Chile, especially concerning faculty. He holds degrees from the Catholic University of Chile, Harvard University and Boston University.
