Biography

Chunyue Zhang is a doctoral student in EAPS at the University at Albany, SUNY and PROPHE Doctoral Research Associate. Her main research interests are 1) comparative higher education administration; 2) private higher education. Zhang received her B.A in English Education from Suzhou University of Sci & Tech. in 1997 and a M.Ed. from the Graduate School of Education in Peking University in 2003. In her studies she specialized in higher education. She was selected for several projects, such as General Education in Peking University; Providing Textbooks for Primary and Middle Schools in the Western Provinces (funded by the Ford Foundation). In 2001 she was selected for private higher education projects funded by Chinese government and wrote several reports on the relationship between the government and this education sector. In 2002 Zhang received a prize from the Chinese University of Hong Kong for her paper on undergraduate students in Peking University. Upon receiving her Master's Degree, Zhang worked as academic advisor and administrator in Peking University for four years and was involved in several higher education research projects.
