Haitian National Office of Partnership between the Public and Private Sectors

PROPHE Summary (by Prachayani Praphamontripong):

The Haitian Government has launched a new project it says will help reach its objective of quality education for all by partnering with the private sectors for consultations and agreements. Such a move will be illustrated through the establishment of the National Office for Partnership between the Public and Private Sectors planned to first operate in December.

For the full story (with English translation) see de MetropoleHaiti.com, July 7, 2005, "Vers la mise en place d'un Office National du Partenariat entre les secteurs public et privé de l'éducation," translated by Marek Kwiek.

PROPHE Observation (by Daniel C. Levy):

Whereas conflict between private and public sectors and between private sectors and government remain common globally, there appears to be a rising tendency to try to forge private-public cooperation of various kinds. This article is unclear about whether or how much the new national office will deal with higher education.
