Harsh Denunciations of Congo’s Privates

PROPHE Summary :

Harsh denunciations have been made of shoddy teaching at private universities in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The main charge is that only unqualified assistants do the teaching. Their plight is aggravated by very poor compensation and opportunities.

For the full story, see University World News, June 28 2009. "DR CONGO: 'Deplorable' teaching in private universities." http://www.universityworldnews.com/article.php?story=20090626121038705

PROPHE Observation:
Even by the often preoccupying level of teaching and facilities in most of Africa’s private higher education institutions, the case of Congo seems especially alarming. The denunciations made are common but the extent of the weaknesses seems striking.
