Collaboration with the CIHE, Boston College

PROPHE continues to work with the CIHE (Center for International Higher Education), a leading center on comparative higher education study. One major result of this collaboration is a joint book: Private Higher Education: A Bibliography (Boston: Information Age, 2004). Additionally, the CIHE periodical International Higher Education includes at lease one special PROPHE column on private higher education in each issue. Now the CIHE and PROPHE partners have decided to group leading entries into a forthcoming book, with a fresh introduction and conclusion. Private Higher Education: A Global Revolution, De Liefde publications, forthcoming. Earlier, CIHE and PROPHE cooperated in publishing Glenda Kruss and Andre Kraak's edited volume, A Contested Good? Understanding Private Higher Education in South Africa, co-published by CIHE and PROPHE, 2003.

CIHE will continue to cooperate on particular tasks. Most important in this respect is PROPHE's attempt to address the dearth of statistical data and legal information on private higher education globally. To this end, both prophe@albany.edu and highered@bc.edu welcome the submission especially of statistics, laws, and regulations. PROPHE would receive reliable and appropriately cited data at any time. We also welcome inquiries in this regard. Also see the Data & Laws section of PROPHE website http://www.albany.edu/dept/eaps/prophe/data/data.html.
