Extensive decoration, worn in places beyond recognition. 2 groups of 6 parallel lines intersect slightly off-center on the jug base. above these, multiple friezes of geometric patterns separated by groups of 2 parallel horizontal lines. First a wave form followed by an inverted version of the same. Above this, a frieze of diagonal checker-patterns and alternating dotted circles rest beneath two rows of a similar motif with straight rather than oblique checkerboards. These are surmounted by another double-wave pattern at the neck-base. The neck itself is adorned with encircling lines and wave patterns. A vertical double-wave pattern descends from the handle at shoulder, cross-cutting the other motifs. |
