workshops:
Skills for Life
Jonathan B. Peck and Grady B. Hedgespath (Professional consultants
on management, business and workplace diversity). A seminaar on the essential
and practical -skills needed for meaningful employment, self-improvement
and personal growth.
Seminar on Women
Dr. Ruth Bass Green, Ph.D. (Associate Dean of Studies and Multi-Cultural
Affairs) and Dr. Barbara Coulibaly Ph.D. (Pshchology Professor of Mount
Holyoke College). Seminar on all forms of violence against women. It may
be the biggest human rights issue in the world-and it is certainly one
of the least discussed.
Confilict Resolution Workshop
Dennis S. Jackson and Staff (Founder and Director of P.L.A.Y.) A violence prevention program for African-Americans and people of color, topics include Just Chill! Designed to help urban students deal consturctively wit angry feelings. RESPECT! Encourages students to respect the rights and needs of others. GANGS... You Decide! Delivers a stunning indictment of gang life.
The MVP Project
Byron Hurt (Coordinator of the MVP Project, Center for Study of Sports in Society). The Mentors in Violence Prevention Project is designed to increase male participation in preventing rape, battering, sexual harassment, and all forms of men's violence against women.
Breavement-After the Loss of a Loved One
Ms. Vivien Weiss, L.C.S.W (Psychotherapist) Specializes in working with people who are grieving. Topics will include: What is "normal" to feel when someone close to you dies?, learning to cope and rebuilding your life.
