The TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND COMPUTER BASIC SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM

(1985 - 88)

This organization served a primarily Hispanic and Haitian population of high school students, aged 15-19 in upper Manhattan. The program was colloborated with Boys of Yesteryear and Brandeis High School, an interaction involving a non-profit organization, a high school, and a higher educational institution. This program prepared students for college and careers in television and computers. Several students have since come back to the programs to serve as mentors, teachers, and guest speakers. This program also focused on high school retention and efforts to keep students in school.
