Founded in 1968 by Artistic Director Jeraldyne Blunden,
the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company repertoire has grown to include contemporary
works by many well known choreographers entrenched in African-American
history. The works of George Faison, Talley Beatty, Donald Byrd,
and Billy Wilson, among others has been performed in recent years.
Ms Blunden was the 1994 recipient of a MacArthur Foundation Fellow award.
