I am delighted to inform CSDAers of the arrival of a new staff member, Kadriye Vargun, who is working for us half-time as a web programmer.  Kadriye has a master’s degree in computer science from the University at Albany, and we are very excited by the high level of expertise she brings to the Center.

Kadriye’s job will be to help CSDA make better use of the web and to help projects develop websites through which they can disseminate their findings.  At the moment, she is devoting her time to my NSF-funded project on the children of immigrants in schools, developing a website that will allow the twenty-six members of the research team to communicate with each other in password-protected web rooms.

In order to keep her from being inundated with requests, I ask you first to contact me (r.alba@albany.edu) or Nancy Denton (n.denton@albany.edu) if you would like assistance from her on a project website.  But don’t hesitate to say hello to Kadriye, whose desk is located in the Mumford Center main office (BA-B11).  She can be reached by e-mail at:  kv7095@albany.edu.
