Nancy Denton was recently named as Fellow for the Center for the Study of Poverty and Inequality at Stanford University.

Timothy Gage received a 2006 Excellence in Research Award from the University at Albany, SUNY.

Don Hernandez was the keynote speaker at the American Psychological Association Expert Summit on
Immigration held in San Antonio (2006). He has also recently received fundings for two research initiatives. The first is entitled Race-Ethnic, Immigrant-Generation, and Socioeconomic Disparities using a
Modified Approach to the FCD Index of Child Well-Being (Foundation for Child Development). The second is entitled New Indicators for Children in
Immigrant Families: Census-based Resources for
KIDSCOUNT Grantees (Anne E. Casey Foundation).

Benjamin Shaw recently received a Junior Faculty Training Award from the University of Michigan Older Americans Independence Center (UM OAIC) Research Career Development Core.

Tom Brutsaert received two teaching awards. The first was the Chancellors Excellence in Teaching Award (SUNY, 2006) and a 2006 Excellence in Teaching Award from The University at Albany, SUNY.

Jennifer Rudolph received a 2006 Nuala McGann Drescher Award. This award was provided by State of New York / United University Professions for the Fall of 2006.

Kirsten K. Davison received a 2006 Nuala McGann Drescher Award. This award was provided by State of
New York / United University Professions for the Fall of
2006.

Steve Messner has been elected Vice-President Elect for the American Society of Criminology (2007-2008). He has also recently been selected as a Deputy Editor for the American Sociological Review (2006) for a three-year term.

Jim Wyckoff has been selected to serve as a member on the advisory panel for a study commissioned by Congress to examine the nature of teacher preparation programs across the country.

Hayward Horton recently received a 2006 Excellence in Academic Services Award from the University at Albany, SUNY.

Stacey Chen received a Nuala McGann Drescher Award for the spring of 2007.
