Other Reports and Articles

• Mapping Census 2000:  The Geography of U.S. Diversity (Census 2000 Special Reports -CENSR/01-1)  --Released June 2001.  This report presents a synthesis of the basic patterns and changes in U.S. population distribution in the last decade. 

• Emergency and Transitional Shelter Population:  2000 (Census 2000 Special Reports - CENSR/01-2) -- Released October 2001.  This report provides tabulations on the population enumerated in emergency and transitional shelters.

• Racial and Ethnic Residential Segregation in the United States: 1980-2000 (CENSR-3) -- Released August 2002.  This report examines the extent of

changes in racial and ethnic residential segregation in the last 2 decades of the 20th century.
Data Materials

• Demographic Trends in the 20th Century (CENSR-4) --Released November 2002.  This report consolidates information from each census, 1900 to 2000, to illustrate the changes in the American population in the 20th century.

• ESCAP (Executive Steering Committee for Accuracy and Coverage Evaluation Policy) Report I (March 2001)    ESCAP announced they could not conclude that the data for legislative redistricting collected during Census 2000 would be improved by statistical adjustment. 

• ESCAP II (October 2001)  Review the research being conducted to determine the potential future uses of the adjusted Census 2000 data. 

• Urban Area Criteria for Census 2000--Proposed Criteria  This Federal Register Notice provides the Census Bureau's proposed criteria for defining urban and rural territory based on the results of Census 2000. It also provides a description of the changes from the criteria used for the 1990 census
