NYS Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NYSCADV)
The mission of NYSCADV is to ensure the provision of effective and appropriate
services to victims of domestic violence and to eradicate domestic violence
through community outreach, education, training, technical assistance, policy
development and a 24-hour hotline. The Coalition can offer volunteers the
opportunity to learn about domestic violence and the services provided to
battered women. Students will have the opportunity to develop skills in policy
analysis, research,community education and advocacy with both the executive
and legislative branches of the New York State government. Project areas include
developing disseminating domestic violence materials and publications, maintaining
the database operating system, providing support for planning and implementing
an annual Legislative Awareness Day, educating legislators on changes in domestic
violence laws, assisting with domestic violence research and providing Hotline
