University at Albany students are needed to provide life-enhancing services
to individuals with disabilities including developmental, autism and brain
injuries. The Organization offers residential services in group home settings in
addition to after-school care, case management, counseling and vocational
training. The volunteers will have a chance to gain valuable field experience
to go along with their academic studies plus make an impact in a person's life
by teaching and assisting with independence building skills. This opportunity
is of particular interest to students majoring in psychology, sociology and
The Carriage House Arts Center is located in Albany. It is
a way for all of our participants to get in touch with the artist within them, the Carriage House offers that and more. From the first piece of art work to experimenting with a variety of mediums, colors and styles, it's a chance to encourage the artist within to show off their stuff. If you enjoy trying new things and do not mind a little paint or clay, this is an ideal place to volunteer.
In addition to volunteer work, there are paid FT/PT and summer positions available at many locations in the Capital Region.
