JUSTUS4US THE POOR PEOPLE'S CAMPAIGN
The purpose of the Organization is to empower members of black, Latino and LGBT communities,
the working poor and all who are impoverished to abolish the inequities that exist in legal,
healthcare, electoral, education and employment practices and to create social change in
New York state through advocacy, outreach and education.
The CPSP volunteer will be in involved in ADVOCACY to give voice to individuals who are not
normally represented and to amplify the voices of communiteies in need: OUTREACH to help
disseminate information through the Community Canvassing Project; and, EDUCATION to help
educating the constituents on socially relevant issues.
The expertise and educational interests of each volunteer will be taken into account before
assigning specific duties.
This experience is particularly appropriate for students majoring in social welfare,
sociology, urban planning, political science and education.
