JUNIOR MUSEUM, The
The Junior Museum, the Children's Museum of the Capital Region since 1954, is dedicated to introducing visitors to a wide spectrum of science, history and the arts in a fun and friendly environment, and promoting the development of children's interest in these important topics.
The goals of The Junior Museum are to provide hands-on exhibits, educational programs and interactive experiences that will stimulate curiosity, intellectual thought processes and artistic expression. Volunteers are needed to support the administrative and education staff. Students interested in science, art, education, history, marketing, fund raising, office administration, computer and information technology, environmental, business, communication, psychology, biology, marine life and technology would find interesting learning and skill building activities with the museum. Activities range from education assistants, educators, exhibit interpreters, front desk, gift shop sales, development and fundraising, public relations, graphic design, web design and management, aquarist assistance, exhibit design and planning, special events, gardening and landscaping, maintenance and more.
