GLENMONT JOB CORPS ACADEMY
The Glenmont Job Corps offers no-cost training and education to America's youth and
young adults aged 16 - 24.
Students earn ther GED (general education) or high school diploma while learning career skills in
one of more than 60 occupational areas offered in the Capital Region
The CPSP volunteer will assist the Employability Advisor with career transition classes. In this
position UAlbany students will spend 80% of their time interacting with Job Corps students
and providing employability
support services in collaboration with the Employability Advisor (EA) and Employability
The volunteer will critique and revise students' resumes, cover letters, etc. In this
position the volunteer will need good inter-personal skills, attention to detail, organizational
akills, and, preferalby, experience in an office environment.
Students will assist the EA and the EC in counseling students with their job searc, and provide general
office support as needed.
This experience is appropriate for students majoring in social welfare, education and sociology.
