FAMILIES TOGETHER IN NYS, INC.
Families Together in NYS is the statewide chapter of the Federation of Families
for Children's Mental Health, a non-profit, family-driven organization that
strives to establish a unified voice for children and adolescents with special
mental health needs. The Organization's mission is to ensure that every family has
access to needed information, support and services. In a positive, easygoing
environment student volunteers will learn how a non-profit advocacy organization
operates, state governmental policy, public relations, marketing, grant writing,
fundraising, general office skills, event management and research.
Families Together in NYS also operates a federally funded program for youth
in Albany County with mental health issues . We are always in need of volunteers
to assist this program's family resource centers, located in Colonie, Albany
and Bern, youth activities and social marketing initiatives. This placesment
is appropriate for students majoring in social welfare, psychology and sociology.
