CAPITAL DISTRICT PSYCHIATRIC CENTER (CDPC)
The center serves adult psychiatric patients in inpatient and outpatient
settings. Supervised by clinical team members, students assist with individual
and/or group work with staff of psychiatric treatment teams. Volunteers work
with in-patient or out-patient programs in such areas as recreational activities,
socialization programs, creative arts therapy, teaching daily living skills,
sometimes with clients living in community residences. Research placements
are occasionally available. An interview by clinical team members is required
as well as TB screening with 1 yr. and immunization records required. Placement
is particularly appropriate for psychology majors.
