AIDS COUNCIL OF NORTHEASTERN NY
The AIDS Council of Northeastern New York provides a continuum of programs
and services to address the HIV related needs of our shared community. Prevention
Services provide a wide variety of programs and workshops designed to: Increase
awareness of HIV and AIDS in our communities. Prevent new cases of HIV infection by raising awareness of risk and promoting risk reduction and behavior change.Target the special needs of high-risk individuals such as substance users, adolescents, incarcerated persons and individuals
with multiple sex partners. Educational programs are tailored to all ages
and all audiences, from elementary school to adult education and work place
environments, from basic to advanced HIV and STD training. The Council also
provides access to HIV testing.
The AIDS Council of Northeastern New York also provides assistance, advocacy
and referrals for persons living with AIDS, as well as their families, partners
and friends. Students are needed to assist with case management and client
services, special events, community education and/or outreach, hotline, administrative
work and more.
