AMERICAN RED CROSS OF NORTHEASTERN NEW YORK
The Red Cross is the world's leading humanitarian organization. The American Red Cross of Northeastern New York 9ARCNENY) helps people in our eight-county service area prepare for, prevent and respond to emergencies.
ARCNENY has a variety of local volunteer assignments including assisting with fundraising and communications; coordination of community disaster education sessions in the community; volunteering as a disaster action team memver for community disasters; assisting with volunteer recruitment and office work. Hours are flexible.
CPSP students are encouraged to become an ombudsman for the elderly. This
is a partnership between the Red Cross and the NYS Office for the Aging. Eligible
volunteers can become trained to serve as advocates for the elderly. Students
in all academic disciplines are welcome, but this might be of particular interest
to social welfare majors.
