The ACOG is seeking community service students who wish to advocate for women's
health. ACOG is the state's leading group of professionals providing health
care to women, representing more than 3,700 ob-gyns in the state who provide
primary care to millions of NYS women.
Our office in Albany is active in promoting quality healthcare for women
through legislative advicacy and continuing medical educational activities
for our obstetrician-gynecologists. A student volunteer can participate in
issue campaigns, researching and analyzing proposed legilation and working
on grant projects relating to women's health.
Students with an interest in medicine, law, public policy, legislative activities
and non-profit management are best suited for this placement. Successful candidates
will have strong oral and written communication skills and familiarity with
Microsoft Word. Basic knowledge of the New York State Legislature is a plus,
