Over the past several years, Richardson and Andersen have been exploring
with Eden and Ackermann techniques to integrate SD group model building
using Vensim with Strategic Journey Making supported by Decision Explorer.
This presentation reports on that work in progress in three parts.
The first part describes briefly a Strategic Journey Making group process
held last January in Scotland dealing with planning health care services.
Elements of SD group modeling were integrated into that process. The
second part describes a group modeling project where the US Transportation
Security Administration was the client. Elements of Strategic Journey
Making using Group Explorer were used in the sesssion.
The last part of the presentation is the most exciting, but also the most
speculative. In this third part of the presentation, we present a
sequence of group "scripts" and products that could possible form the
basis for more completely Fusing the two now distinct processes into a new
and more powerful method for working with groups.
