As a repeat of our successful 2000 Alumni Reunion, in October, 2005, we held a weekend Alumni Reunion to celebrate 25 years of our PhD program and 191 PhDs! Have a look at some photos (below) from both reunions. Enjoying Albany ’s beautiful fall foliage, alums came from far and wide to reacquaint themselves with our campus, meet old grad school buddies, and “catch up” with faculty. Through the generous contributions of our alums, ALL of our doctoral students were able to attend the entire weekend’s events, including a large banquet, at no cost. One highlight of the reunion was the Saturday workshops offered by alumni for current doc students. These workshops included Working in Medical Centers; Interventions with Children and Adolescents; Finding that First Job or Post-Doc; All About Internships; Careers in College/University Counseling Centers; Balancing Work, Family and Play; Establishing and Maintaining a Private Practice. Another highlight of the 2005 weekend was the Silent Auction, organized and run by students with donated goods and services. Doc students raised over $1,000, which will be used for student travel to present their research at national conferences. Finally, doctoral students met alumni who were willing to serve as mentors, showing them that there is, indeed, “life after graduate school”!
