  Middle Earth Peer Assistance Program
Graduate Assistantships Tapestry

Each spring semester beginning in mid-February, the Middle Earth Peer Assistance Program recruits graduate students in the Departments of Clinical and Counseling Psychology, School of Education, and Schools of Social Welfare and Education for two Hotline Coordinator and one Outreach Coordinator assistantship positions (click the links for details on these positions).

Two of the three available graduate assistantships carry a tuition waiver, and all assistantships carry a stipend that will be based on the standards set by the State budget and GSEU contract.

Hotline Coordinator

The Hotline Coordinator positions entail responsibility for and supervision of the Middle Earth hotline and walk-in service, which is staffed by undergraduate volunteers. The Hotline Coordinators are responsible for the implementation of six credit-bearing training courses for undergraduate peer counselors as well as ongoing supervision and intervention concerning peer counselor performance on the hotline.

Outreach Coordinator

The Outreach Coordinator position entails the responsibility for and supervision of the Middle Earth Outreach Education Program, including a campus peer theater group. The Outreach Coordinator oversees the administration and implementation of daily program operation, such as scheduling of workshops, theme weeks, peer theater group training and performances, informational events, supervision of undergraduate students in the outreach program, and serving as a liaison with the campus community. The incumbent will also carry teaching and supervisory duties for students who are enrolled in undergraduate courses that are affiliated with Middle Earth. The incumbent MUST have strong supervisory and leadership skills.
