Professional Interests

Dr. Kimmelblatt has experience with and particularly enjoys working with students on a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, adjustment to college, and living with chronic medical conditions. His professional interests include the areas of supervision and training, peer education, and health psychology.

Approach to Therapy

His style of working with students is integrative and collaborative. Dr. Kimmelblatt draws on the work of cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and solution-focused approaches to help each student achieve their treatment goals. He also believes that it is not just what happens within each therapy session but the little differences and changes that each student attends to in their daily life that maximizes the benefits of therapy.

Approach to Wellness

Dr. Kimmelblatt enjoys spending time with his family and playing with his dog, a pug named Isabel. He enjoys the outdoors (during the warmer months) and in his free time he loves to cook, read, and travel.
