Handmade wool felt, originated from Chinese Mongolian, is selected as one of the national intangible cultural heritage in 2008. The handmade wool process, using the inherent characteristics of wool fibers, supplemented by heating, lubrication, compression and other techniques, makes the wool fibers self-crosslink and format final wool felt arts, without any help from stitches. The whole process and the final handicraft arts are very interesting, unique, fancy and distinguished in appearance.

A warm skills for living

Tingting Zhang

Today, the "craftsmanship" Few people are talking about, "Skill" level has expanded a lot, but why do we still have to return to a "hand labor", the feeling was to go through the body of the fact labor, the feeling started to bring in physical growth and physical objects reliance, at this point the use of sheep wool blankets made of this folk art opens for us to bring new inspiration and new heat.

This "skill with a temperature" is currently in human history, according to the oldest form of fabric, dating back at least eight thousand years of history. In 2008, the Mongolian(China) wool felt craft, selected the China's second batch of national intangible cultural heritage directory.

The process, using a non-woven wool but also integrally molded features to design and creation, Creators were allowed to freely transform different style of modeling, and, finished products after having felting with not easy deformation, rugged features, is ideal for the creation of life in a wide range of practical items, bring to life the warm time, at the same time, it is collections and gifts of choice. The wool felt works of art presented by the artist Tingting Zhang, using a creative approach combined with wool, Chinese silk, and embroidery, so that the ancient craft full of new charm.
