As known to all, China nowadays is still in the center of reform, going through the era of experimentation. The complexity and uncertainty caused by the various social, economic and social problems happening in this large and populous country provide Chinese artists with strong and consistent inspirations, challenges, and creativity in their creation.

From the early 1980s, with the changing of China's political, economic and cultural environment, the Chinese contemporary art as a matter of course to an independent force boarded the stage of history. Especially in the early days, the Chinese contemporary art more purely represents the rebellious, non-public and maverick attitude, although occasionally embodied as passive helpless.

Since the beginning of 21st century, due to the infusion of international capital, Chinese contemporary art has become a symbol of modern China on the international stage, attracting enormous attention. Thirty years gone, Chinese contemporary art stumbled ahead run in the debate and innovation, still being developed along with paradox. Too early to make a decent judgment, it is fortunate that we are involved in is an evolving historical stage, far from mature culture system.
