Advisment and mandatory meetings

FOR ALL DECLARED COMMUNICATION MAJORS AND MINORS! (Not "intended"
majors or minors)

It's time to sign up for advanced registration planning appointments for
Fall 2008!!!  Please sign up, if you have not already done so.

During our advanced registration planning appointments, we answer your
questions and you will be able to receive permission numbers for one or
two Communication classes (depending on the number of courses needed in
the major or minor).

All students MUST sign up for an advanced registration planning
appointment on the appropriate sign-up sheets outside SS 340 in order to
receive permission numbers for Communication courses AND and AVNs for
Fall and Summer.  Because permission numbers are released on a
first-come/first-served basis until each course is closed, and our
classes close out fast, the earlier you sign up the better.

Planning appointments start on Monday 3/17 and, after spring break,
continue into March 31.  Advance registration (via myualbany) for Fall
2008 starts on Tuesday, April 1.  Copies of the Summer and Fall 2008
schedules for Communication courses are available outside SS 340.

Application forms are now available for students seeking to do either a Summer 2008 or Fall 2008 full-time internship.

Applications are available outside Room 348 of the Social Sciences Building. The application deadline is Monday, March 3. Students may seek internships in the Albany area, as well as in areas outside Albany, including New York City. Students may perform internships in both profit-based and non-profit organizations. Previous interns have worked in non-profit community service and volunteer organizations, as well as in profit-based organizations focused on broadcasting, publishing, public relations, marketing, lobbying, and more.A list of potential internship placements in these and other areas can be obtained from the Communication Department.

All applicants must go through an interview process. Interviews will be conducted on Monday, March 3; Friday, March 7; and Monday, March 10. The interview location is SS-348. Interview sign-up sheets are posted on the door of SS-348. Students should sign-up for an interview only after returning a completed application. Completed applications should be returned to SS-348.
