Careers for Communication Graduates

Programs in Communication are intended to help students become knowledgeable about communication processes and their influences on the interpersonal, intercultural, organizational and political aspects of our societies. By focusing on development of analytical and critical skills, the B.A. and M.A. programs help students become able to analyze and effectively participate in, and as necessary, improve communication practices in diverse settings and instances. Having completed their degree/s in communication, the students will have a basis for judging whether or not specific communication processes are meeting the needs of the people involved. They will also be able to evaluate the effectiveness of specific communication practices and devise ways of improving them, as well as analyze and devise solutions to communication problems. These competencies have value in the workplace and in one's personal life as well.

Graduates of the communication program have pursued careers in many of the following fields. Others have gone on to other graduate degrees (e.g. law school) or to work on their masters or doctoral degrees in Communication.
