Interested in majoring in Communication?
We are now accepting applications for Fall 2014 admission to the Communication major. To be considered, a student must take Com 100 and a logic/statistics class. Students who average a B between those 2 courses are automatically admitted. Details here.
This year's department commencement ceremony was held at 8 p.m., Saturday, May 17, at SEFCU Arena for B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. students. Our commencement speech was delivered by Susan Arbetter, Emmy Award-winning host and producer of the syndicated public radio program the Capitol Pressroom. For photos and a video from this year's ceremony, check out our Facebook page.
Matsaganis' book cited in magazine
"Understanding Ethnic Media," a 2010 book co-authored by Communication's Matthew Matsaganis (along with Vikki Katz and Sandra Ball-Rokeach), was cited in The Atlantic magazine article "Newspapers That Aren't Dying."
Welcome new majors!
Congratulations to 124 UAlbany students and 23 transfer students to date who have been admitted to the Communication major for Fall 2014. Welcome!
