In honor of our graduating Graduate and Undergraduate students, the faculty members of the Department of Communication will hold a Departmental Commencement Ceremony. It will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 8 p.m. in SEFCU Arena.
Students who have completed their degree requirements in Spring 2014 or are expecting to in Summer 2014 are invited to participate. We encourage you to share this information with your family and friends.
Because we are in the 4,000-seat SEFCU Arena on the south side of campus, no tickets are required for admission.
There is plenty of parking but please be aware there are many events on campus this weekend so please leave extra time to arrive and be seated so as not to miss the ceremony. Handicap parking is available. Also, we do have wheelchair access in the arena.
Graduating students should assemble at 7:30 p.m. at the Physical Education Building across from SEFCU Arena wearing caps and gowns (which are required for participation and available through the UA Bookstore).
The ceremony will begin at 8 p.m. and we anticipate it will be completed by 9:30 p.m.
During the ceremony, graduating students will be individually recognized. Pictures of each graduate will be taken and available for purchase at a later date. Proofs will be sent to UAlbany email addresses following the ceremony.
Student who applied for graduation and registered with the university, along with summer students who contacted the department, were e-mailed this information. If you have not heard from us and plan to participate, please contact the department right away at 518-442-4871.
