UNIVERSITY-WIDE UNDERGRADUATE CEREMONY
Sunday, May 21, 2017
11:00 a.m.
Entry Plaza Lawn

Degree Conferral Ceremony for all bachelor’s candidates.

Location: Outdoors on the Entry Plaza Lawn, rain or shine. Please dress accordingly.

Arrival Time: Students must check-in to the assembly tents on Collins Circle by 10:00 a.m. Guest seating opens at 9:30 a.m. and the ceremony will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m.

Duration: The ceremony is expected to last around 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Guest Tickets: Tickets are NOT required, but students are asked to bring no more than ten guests each.

Registration: All students must register to participate via MyUAlbany.

Format: Degrees will be conferred en masse by school or college. Students will process into the seating area and stand at their seat for the degree conferral. See below for information on the Individual Recognition Ceremonies that will offer the opportunity for all undergraduates to cross a stage and have their name read.

DAY-OF:
NO drop-offs are allowed at Collins Circle.

Regalia: Academic Regalia must be worn to participate.
Parking: No drop-offs are allowed at Collins Circle as it will be closed to all public traffic on Sunday. Parking will be available in the in Colonial Quad and State Quad Student lots, which are a short 5-8 minute walk to the ceremony. Dutch Quad Student lot is also open with wheelchair accessible shuttle service provided.
Shuttle Service: Wheelchair accessible shuttles will be available from the Dutch Quad Student parking lot, dropping all guests off at the Entry Plaza Lawn (at Collins Circle). After the ceremony, pick-up will be at the same location for a return trip to Dutch Quad Student parking lot. Graduates and guests should factor 20 minutes into their travel time to secure parking and arrive at the ceremony site.
Photography: Every graduate will be photographed in the assembly area and receive a link to a personal gallery.
Venue: Flowers and select items from the bookstore will be available for purchase. Food concessions will also be available.
Alcohol Policy: The University at Albany requests the cooperation of all participants and visitors in complying with the University at Albany’s policy prohibiting alcoholic beverages at Commencement related events. No one with alcoholic beverages will be allowed to enter, or participate, in a commencement ceremony.

Undergraduate Individual Recognition Ceremonies

In addition to Sunday’s University-Wide Undergraduate degree conferral ceremony,
all bachelor’s candidates also have an opportunity to attend their
School or College’s Individual Recognition ceremony.


Please monitor all correspondence from your school or college regarding Invdividual Recognition Ceremony. For further details, please contact your school or college.

Format: Bachelor’s candidates will cross the stage and have their names read.

Regalia: Academic Regalia must be worn to participate.

Parking: All parking lots are open to students and guests during commencement weekend. However, please follow all event signage or directions from University Police Officers and event parking staff.

Photography: Every graduate will be photographed as they cross the stage and receive a link to a personal gallery.

Guest Tickets: Most ceremonies do not require tickets, though out of courtesy to your fellow graduates and well as venue limitations, we ask students to bring no more than ten guests.
For those ceremonies that do require tickets, please work with the ceremony coordinator as listed below.

Alcohol Policy: The University at Albany requests the cooperation of all participants and visitors in complying with the University at Albany’s policy prohibiting alcoholic beverages at Commencement related events. No one with alcoholic beverages will be allowed to enter, or participate, in a commencement ceremony.

Registration is REQUIRED: All students must register to participate for their ceremonies via MyUAlbany.
