Parking
Parking will be available in the SEFCU Arena and Dutch Quad Gold parking lots. Please see the University parking map for location. Shuttle buses in the Dutch Quad Gold lot will transport guests to and from the ceremony. The arena lot will fill quickly. We strongly urge you to take advantage of the shuttle service available from the Dutch lot.

All guests will require a ticket to gain entry to the commencement exercises. Ticket Information

Accessibility
Handicapped Parking
A limited number of handicapped parking spaces for vehicles with the appropriate decal will be available in the small lot to the west of the SEFCU Arena. This is also the location where guests with mobility issues may be dropped off. A University Police Officer will be present to direct you to the appropriate location on both days.

Commencement staff will be available to provide wheelchair assistance from the shuttle drop-off / handicapped parking area into the Arena and to the reserved accessible seating section.

General Information
The SEFCU Arena is equipped with handicapped accessible rest rooms, drinking fountains and seating. At the ceremony, a large seating area will e reserved for both frail and disable guests. We appreciate your cooperation in having no more than two family members accompany the disabled person. Wheelchairs will be available for TRANSPORT ONLY (from the drop-off point to seats in the SEFCU and back) and ONLY IF REQUESTED IN ADVANCE. A sign language interpreter will be provided on the stage. Guests with hearing impairments, graduating students who wish to sit in close proximity to the interpreter, and guests and/or graduating students who require wheelchair access or special seating should contact Carolyn Malloch by November 16, 2009 at:

Photography
The University at Albany will offer the services of a professional photographer at the Winter Ceremony. As it is virtually impossible for parents to get close enough to the stage or procession to get a good photograph of their graduate, we have found that parents appreciate the opportunity to have a high quality photo of their students taken. Students will be professionally photographed at the graduate ceremony as they cross and exit the stage, and at the undergraduate ceremony, prior to its start. The photographer will mail proofs to the students’ permanent address, and families will have the option to purchase prints if they wish. Any student who does not want to receive proofs will have an opportunity to remove their name and address from the photographer’s mailing list.

Concessions
Light refreshments and snacks will be available for purchase in the lobby of the SEFCU Arena on Sunday.

Flowers & Souvenirs
For your convenience, flowers and UAlbany memorabilia will be available for purchase in the lobby of the SEFCU Arena on Sunday. Please note, that given the nature of the fire alarm system in place, balloons are not permitted inside the SEFCU Arena.

Commencement Programs
Official Commencement Programs will be distributed upon entry to the arena.. December 2009 degree candidates who have met their degree application deadline, and August graduates will be listed in the program, not those who participate. Therefore, students who have not satisfied heir graduation requirements and have not had their application approved by the Office of the Registrar, will not be listed in the program.

The Registrar’s Office will be happy to mail a Commencement Program upon request to those who are listed therein but who are unable to attend the Winter Ceremony. Requests should be made to:

Alcohol Policy
The University at Albany requests the cooperation of all participants and visitors in complying with the policy prohibiting alcoholic beverages at the Commencement ceremonies. No one with alcoholic beverages will be allowed to enter or participate in any of the weekend’s events.
