Participation

Faculty may participate in one of the following ways:

1. "Marching" (Non-Hooding) Faculty
   Marching faculty will take part in the processional and be seated on stage. Please RSVP by April 30.
   To RSVP, contact Commencement: include your name, preferred email address, academic department and office address.
2. Hooding Faculty
   Hooding a doctoral candidate? Please contact Jonathan Bartow, Vice Dean for Graduate Education. Jon will coordinate the doctoral hooding portion of the ceremony and will provide you with further detail.
3. Faculty Marshals
   Lead and direct the degree candidates during the processional, ensure orderly and expeditious seating, and assist with degree presentation. Members of the marshal group will be contacted via mail, early in the semester, with further detail.

Logistics

To reserve your seat on stage, please e-mail Commencement and include the following:
full name; preferred email, academic department; and campus address.

Assembly time, location, and further detail will be sent via email, two weeks prior to the ceremony date to faculty who have submitted an RSVP.

Regalia

For those of you with your own regalia read no further.

If you are a faculty marshal, there is no need to rent regalia to serve in this capacity.

Regalia Rental
Members of the teaching faculty who wish to rent academic regalia should visit the University Bookstore or complete the Faculty Regalia Order form by April 9 if you want to order a specific hood and have your regalia delivered to your office on campus. All orders placed after April 9 will come with a UAlbany hood. All rental orders must be placed no later than April 30. To secure your rental, please email Sue Derocco: Please include your Full Name; Campus Address; Phone; Department; Order Needs (Cap)/Gown/Hood; Gender; Height; Highest Degree; Field; Institution that Awarded Degree; Please indicate whether you will pick-up or Prefer Delivery.

Regalia must be picked up from the University Bookstore, unless you choose to have it delivered and place your order within the stated deadlines. Representatives from the Bookstore will be in contact with you regarding delivery dates/times. Regalia orders placed will NOT be available for pick-up onsite, the day of the ceremony.
