Guests with Disabilities

The University at Albany welcomes family members and guests with disabilities on Commencement Weekend. Accessible-seating and other reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Guests requiring wheelchair transport are recommended to bring their own.

Should you require special arrangements, such as close proximity to the interpreter, require wheelchair access, or special seating needs, please contact the Disability Resource Center or the Individual Recognition Ceremony contact as listed within the Undergraduate Info tab.

University-Wide Ceremony
SEFCU Arena venue

Parking: A limited number of handicapped parking spaces for vehicles with the appropriate tag will be available in the West Arena Lot. This is also the drop-off location reserved for guests with mobility issues only. University Police Officers will be present to assist with directions.

Shuttle Service: Wheelchair accessible shuttles will travel between the Dutch Quad Student parking lot and the SEFCU Arena before and after the ceremony. Graduates and guests should factor 20 minutes into their travel time to secure parking and arrive at the ceremony site.

Elevator Access: SEFCU Arena has an elevator located inside the lobby, please identify yourself to volunteers to be directed to the accessible seating area located on the arena floor. Additional accessible seating are located on the lobby level.

Seating: The SEFCU Arena will be equipped with a reserved accessible seating area for guests along with 2 escorts.

Restrooms: Accessible restrooms will be available in the SEFCU Arena.

American Sign Language: The ceremony will be sign language interpreted.

Entry Plaza Lawn venue

Parking: A limited number of handicapped parking spaces for vehicles with the appropriate tag will be available in the State Quad Faculty Lot. University Police Officers will be present to assist with directions.

**NO DROP-OFFS are allowed at Collins Circle as it will be closed to all public traffic on Sunday.**

Shuttle Service: Wheelchair accessible shuttles will travel between the Dutch Quad Student parking lot and the Entry Plaza Lawn (Collins Circle). Graduates and guests should factor 20 minutes into their travel time to secure parking and arrive at the ceremony site.

Seating: There will be a seating area on the Entry Plaza Lawn reserved for guests with accessibility needs along with 1 escort. Commencement staff will also provide shuttle service via golf carts from the handicapped parking lot (State Faculty Lot) and the reserved seating section before and after the ceremony.

Restrooms: Accessible portable toilets will be available at the Entry Plaza Lawn and adjacent to the reserved seating section.

American Sign Language: The ceremony will be sign language interpreted.
