Since 1970, the Center for Legislative Development has delivered path-breaking training and technical assistance programs aimed at strengthening the capacity of governmental institutions-particularly legislatures-to support democratic development and good governance. CLD has implemented successful activities and projects around the globe.

The Center for Legislative Development is part of the University at Albany's Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy which is rated among the top ten policy schools in the nation. The faculty and staff associated with CLD include specialists in public administration, public policy, economics, law, decision-making, political science, and systems and information sciences.
