Edna Acosta-Belén

Director
Distinguished Professor of Latin American, Caribbean, and U.S. Latino Studies, and Women Studies.

Areas of research:
U.S. Latino(a) and Caribbean cultural studies; women's studies. Some book publications include: Puerto Ricans in the United States: A Contemporary Portrait (with C. Santiago), The Hispanic Experience (with B. Sjostrom), Researching Women in Latin America and the Caribbean (with C. Bose), Women in the Latin American Development Process (with C. Bose), and The Puerto Rican Woman: Perspectives on Culture, History, and Society. She is co-founder and editor of the Latino(a) Research Review and co-editor of the book series Latinos: Exploring Diversity and Change by Lynne Rienner Publishers.

Dr. Acosta-Belén received her Ph.D. from Columbia University. She has been a visiting Professor at Cornell University and a postdoctoral fellow at Princeton and Yale Universities.
