Community Building
The College of Computing & Information Student Center initiates and coordinates college-wide events and activities for all students, fostering a sense of community and clearer understanding of student opportunities in each department and program.
Faculty Office Hours
Faculty from the Downtown campus who teach undergraduates hold office hours in the Student Center; LI-84.
Student Groups
Student groups housed in the Student Center include the student chapters of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T), and Society of Computing and Networking (SCAN). Students groups affiliated with CCI can obtain advice, file storage, and meeting space.
CCI Women in Technology
The College of Computing and Information’s Women in Technology (CCIWIT) is dedicated to supporting, empowering, and building community among CCI’s female faculty and students. Students interested in participating in CCIWIT should visit jgoodall@albany.edu
Study Groups
Research shows that people who study together are better able to persist in their major. The Student Center helps faculty and students organize study groups and provides space and facilitation for study-group meetings.
Tutoring
One-on-one tutoring is available for students. Students can schedule sessions by emailing cciundergradaueoffice@gmail.com or can get instant message support through Google chat.

The Student Center works with the Career Development Center on career panels for students and access to other CDC opportunities. We also provide industry representatives and students with a centralized point of contact.
